Creation or Evolution?

1. the varieties of flowers or domestic animals that breeders can achieve,
2. the finches on the Galapagos Islands, which led Charles Darwin to write The Origin of Species.

An original few finches apparently became isolated there, and the next many generations diversified, so that now there are a number of species differing in size, bill shape, and color. (BUT IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT) these are still finches, and the breeder's new rose is still a rose; there are fixed limits to any such process.

Let's establish something right off the bat: Evolution is NOT fact. Evolution is NOT science. Now those are pretty big statements, but they are true, nonetheless. A FACT is something that can be demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt. There are PLENTY of reasonable doubts about the THEORY of evolution. Science, in its purest definition, is the study of laws that have been demonstrated through experimentation. Evolution has never been demonstrated ANYWHERE. (Remember, I'm not talking about Micro evolution, I'm talking about Macro evolution). Therefore, evolution cannot be considered science.

This part usually gets someone or other riled up: Evolution is a system of belief. Because it is a theory, not a fact, in order to subscribe to it, one must BELIEVE in evolution. Many well-respected scientists do not BELIEVE in evolution. The fact that evolution is not technically science also places it squarely in the category of a belief system.

It is incredible to think that evolution is still being touted today as truth. We can no longer stand on the sidelines waiting for someone else with more ‘learning’ to expose evolution as a farce. We must become involved also. Hank Hanegraff has written a book entitled, The FACE That Demonstrates the Farce of Evolution. This book provides a simple method using the acronym FACE, to make it easy for anyone to remember how to demonstrate the farce of evolution. The following is taken from Hank’s book.

Charles Darwin had predicted that the fossil record would bear him out. In reality, the fossil record has become one of the greatest embarrassments to his legacy. Hank Hanegraff’s F in FACE stands for Fossil Follies. The Folly is that no verifiable transitions from one species to another have as yet been found. In Darwins day, fossil finds were relatively scare. Today, however, more than a century after his death (one would surmise he is now a creationist), we have an abundance of fossils. Still, we have yet to find even one legitimate transition from one species to another.

Something the fossil record demonstrates clearly is that species appeared suddenly, with no sequential relatives. In other words, each species appears in the fossil record as if it were created then and there, with no link to any older fossils. And many scientists, realizing this, now are saying Darwin's theory that species evolved slowly over time must be incorrect. Even so, these same scientist have no idea how these species were able to evolve suddenly. Nor do they understand why. In an article dealing with this very issue, TIME magazine noted, "Here scientists delicately slide across data-thin ice, suggesting scenarios that are based on intuition rather than solid evidence."

Evolutionist Colin Patterson admitted the following:

In 1922, a tooth was discovered in Nebraska. With a little imagination the tooth was connected to a mythological jawbone, the jawbone was connected to a skull, the skull was connected to a skeleton, and the skeleton was given a face, features, and fur. By the time the story hit a London newspaper, not only was there a picture of "Nebraska man" but there was also a picture of "Nebraska mom." All of that from a single solitary tooth. Some time after the initial discovery, an identical tooth was found by geologist Harold Cook. This time the tooth was attached to an actual skull, and the skull was attached to the skeleton of a wild pig. Nebraska man was a fantasy.

Let’s look at a few more:

Let’s explore a few of the miracles that demonstrate that life on earth was designed by a benevolent Creator rather than directed by blind chance. First, consider plain old tap water. The solid state of most substances is more dense than their liquid state, but the opposite is true for water, which explains why ice floats rather than sinks. If water were like virtually any other liquid, it would freeze from the bottom up rather than from the top down, killing aquatic life, destroying the oxygen supply, and making earth uninhabitable.

Ocean tides, which are caused by the gravitational pull of the moon, play a crucial role in our survival. If the moon were significantly larger, thereby having a stronger gravitational pull, devastating tidal waves would submerge large areas of land. If the moon were smaller, tidal motion would cease, and the oceans would stagnate and die.

Consider the ideal temperatures on planet Earth—not duplicated on any other known planet in the universe. If we were closer to the sun, we would fry. If we were farther away, we would freeze.

In the 1981 edition of World Book Encyclopedia's Science Yearbook a fascinating article begins:

"The bombardier beetle is one of many insects that makes and uses complex chemicals to protect itself from it's natural enemies."

Upon examining this creature in the laboratory biologists have discovered that inside the bombardier beetle's body are two special chambers which produce two special chemicals. When these chemicals are mixed and ejected through a special tube strategically positioned at the rear of the beetle's body, they produce virtual explosion in the face of would be attackers.

The hapless predator is left gagging in a steaming, noxious spray that issues forth at the boiling point of water. His special turret-like artillery fires with accuracy in whatever direction is necessary.

A very special feature of this lowly "chemist" is another chemical called an "inhibitor." If you were to mix the basic two ingredients of his chemical warfare (hydrogen peroxide and hydroquinone) it would blow up in your face. But the addition of the "inhibitor" prevents such a premature blast. Only when the "bomb" is ejected does it blow up for the bombardier beetle's defence.

Try to imagine the extremely delicate defence system of the bombardier beetle before it had evolved to be fully functional. If the chemicals were not just the right strength or of just the perfect ingredients, can you see the picture of Mr. Bombardier Beetle manning his battle station for the first time? If it fizzled he would be exterminated in short order by his predators for inadequate protection.

What about another possible hazard? If the inner chambers or tubes weren't perfectly organised from the beginning, or if the inhibitor technology was not quite ready in time think what would happen. He goes to take a deadly shot and it backfires! Mr. Bombardier Beetle is blown to pieces and never even makes it to the endangered species list.

You don't have to have a college degree to realise that a multitude of precision details had to be working perfectly from the beginning of this bug's existence.

One simple cell is so much more complex than our most powerful computers that it boggles the mind. Carl Sagan says there are about 10¹²-- that's ten to the twelfth power -- bits of information in each cell. He illustrates this by saying that each cell contains the equivalent of about 100 million pages of the Encyclopedia Brittanica. How likely is it that this is the result of random chance? Not very likely... Each part of the puzzle, each tiny piece of that 100 million pages of information must be in a specific place, every t crossed and every i dotted, all in a specific sequence, or the entire cell dies. Now consider the following illustration. If you put ten scrabble letters into a hat, that, if arranged properly would spell R-E-P-U-B-L-I-C-A-N, you would have a one-in-3,628,800 chance of pulling the letters out, one at a time, in exactly the right order. If we were to try another experiment, this time starting with each of the 26 letters of the alphabet, and then try to pull them out in alphabetical order, the odds of getting it right are only one-in-403 trillion trillion. That's one chance in 403,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. Now imagine the odds against randomly getting 100 million pages of information in perfect order -- but that's exactly what had to happen for the first cell to even exist! No intelligent life here... Doesn't it seem strange that brilliant men could spend their entire lives in a lab trying to create life just to show that NO INTELLIGENCE was necessary to form it in the first place. For hundreds of years, brilliant men have been trying - and failing - to make even the simplest life, and yet those same men would have you believe that life began BY ACCIDENT!

We talked last week about how science demonstrates how God exists. The same arguments can be made as to God as the Creator. Today’s physical sciences are built on three laws of thermodynamics that describe energy relationships of matter in the universe. (Lord William Kelvin). The first two laws are as follows:

The second law proves there had to be a beginning once or else all creation would be dead by now. Evolution requires constant violations of the second law in order to be plausible.

Evolution or God, Which Is It? There are only two possibilities that I know of as to why we exist. Either our world and everything in it is an accident of nature or it is the result of a highly intelligent and extremely powerful creator. The only seemingly plausible explanation that man has come up with is the theory of evolution.

The theory of evolution, which is taught as a fact in our public school textbooks, tax-supported parks, museums, and public television programs, is actually not a harmless theory but a dangerous religious belief. The truth is needed to expose evolutionism as being largely responsible for molding the thinking of hosts of people like Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot of the Khmer in Cambodia, Margaret Sanger, and Karl Marx, who have caused untold suffering in our world. Evolution as it is being taught is dangerous for several reasons.

At stake is the credibility of Jesus. He said the creation of Adam was "the beginning" (Matt. 19:4). Evolution and creation represent worldviews that are polar opposites-one of them is wrong! Also at stake are the morals of our children, because if evolution is true, there are no moral absolutes and only the strongest have a right to survive. If evolution is true, abortion, euthanasia, pornography, genocide, homosexuality, adultery, incest, etc., are all permissible.

Evolution is positively anti-science. Science deals with things that are testable, observable, and demonstrable and evolution has none of those qualities. To call evolution "science" Is to confuse fairy tales with facts. True, evolution has been mixed with science for the last thirty years, but that does not mean that it is the same as science. Beer is often advertised during sporting events but the two subjects have no logical connection, and evolution has no more to do with science than beer has to do with sports.

Real science, not evolution, should be taught in the science classes. Teaching the pagan religion of evolutionism is a waste of valuable class time and textbook space. It is also one of the reasons American kids don't test as well in science as kids in other parts of the world.

Government should not sponsor religion. Teaching the theory of evolution as fact in tax-supported schools violates the establishment clause of the First Amendment. Why should all taxpayers support one religion over all others in our schools? Efforts must be made on all fronts to inform people that evolution is only a religion and that tax-supported institutions should not teach it as fact.

But remember, All our efforts to stem the tide of moral decay in our land are futile unless God leads and supports our cause. The most important thing anyone can do to help fix the problem is to obey 2 Chr. 7:14 - "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
